Actor Tom Hanks and actress Rita Wilson, his wife, have been diagnosed with coronavirus.
Hank, in a statement posted on his Instagram page, said he and his wife exhibited symptoms like body aches, chills, tiredness, and slight fever on their way to Australia and were tested and confirmed positive to the virus.
He wrote, “Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officers have a protocol that must be followed. So we Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?”
A representative of Hanks had confirmed the news to CNN and has no additional comment on it.
Warner Bros confirmed that the actor was in Australia doing pre-production work for a film about singer Elvis Presley.
Hanks said they would keep the world posted and updated on the outcome.
The World Health Organization noted that Australia has more than 120 confirmed cases of coronavirus.
