Vice-President of Assembly dies of coronavirus

Burkina Faso has recorded its first case of Covid-19 death. They are Madame Marie Rose Compaoré, a 62-year-old diabetic woman.

She was the second vice-president of the National Assembly. She died overnight Tuesday to Wednesday, said Professor Martial Ouedraogo, national coordinator of the response to the Covid-19 epidemic.

It was the first death recorded in Burkina Faso since the start of the pandemic. As of March 18, 2020, the country has 27 cases, including one in Bobo-Dioulasso, the second-largest city in Burkina Faso.

231 people were in contact with the sick. They are, therefore, currently being followed.
