Bassey who was expected to finish with a chemical engineering degree in a few weeks passed away of coronavirus on Saturday, March 28, after purportedly being refused a number of times for the coronavirus examination in the Kalamazoo location while living off-campus, despite having a high temperature, exhaustion and also shortness of breath.

Sister of deceased, Asari Offiong said;
