The Governor of Rivers state, Nyesome Woke has finally revealed the identity of the COVID-19 carrier in the state.
The investigation revealed that a 19-year old model who hail from Edo state and resides in Port Harcourt was responsible for the presence and spread of the COVID-19 virus.
It was recorded that the girl traveled to France, Italy and Greece before returning to Port Harcourt on the 16th of March, 2020.
According to Governor Nyesom Wike, it is very unfortunate and pitiful that despite all the preventive measures that was put in place to make sure this deadly disease doesn’t find its way into the state, Rivers state has recorded a positive case as confirmed by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
“On arrival to Port Harcourt, she was asymptomatic and commenced self isolation in her family house before her samples were collected and sent to the Reference Laboratory, Irruan in Edo State” The Governor stated.
