The Arewa Youths Consultative Forum AYCF, leader, on Thursday, said the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, should be arrested and taken to undergo a psychological test.
The President-General of AYCF, Yerima Shettima, made this call in reaction to the recent attack on President Muhammadu Buhari where Nnamdi Kanu said he’s fake.
After the last broadcast by President Buhari ordering a lockdown in Abuja, Lagos and Ogun State to enable the country to prevent the spread of the dreaded coronavirus, Kanu had claimed that President Buhari used a body mask during the address to the nation.
Kanu has, on several occasions, claimed that President Buhari is dead and replaced with one Jubril Al-Sudan, an impostor from Sudan.
According to Yerima Shettima, “It has been my position that the government of the day should arrest Nnamdi Kanu and checked psychologically, so we will be sure that he doesn’t have any health issues.
“The government can use an Interpol arrangement to arrest him anywhere he is and returns to the country so we can run a psychological test on him.
“If after the test and he’s found to be healthy, then he should face the music at a Federal High Court, but if abnormal, then he should be taken to a psychiatric home.
“The way he’s using abusive words on the president and the government should not be encouraged. If we undermine such character, people will undermine our government both locally and internationally by those who see him as a role model.
“We need to check such madness. However, we are not against anybody criticizing the government, but when you take on someone like the No 1 citizen of the country base on a personal ground, it gives us concern. Whether you like him or not, President Buhari remains the number one man in the country.
“Though I don’t agree with some things Buhari is doing, I can’t go out of my way to abuse him, and I think it’s time we start looking at this issue and bring Nnamdi Kanu to order.”
