The people of Delta State have continued to comply with the order given to them by Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa to sit at home, soldiers who are on stop and search duty on Thursday, have reportedly shot one Mr. Joseph Pessu dead.
The victim was shot dead at Ada-Val Areyenka Junction in the Ugbuwangue community in Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State.
The details of why the victim was shot dead have not been known as when this report was made.
But, it was learned that soldiers stopped the deceased at the checkpoint, but he refused to stop and tried to run away.
The soldier chased him and shot him dead in the process.
As at the time of this report, the remains of the deceased have been deposited in the mortuary.
When contacted, Commissioner of Police, Delta State, CP Mohammed Hafiz Inuwa confirmed the report to be accurate by saying, “I am yet to get the full details.”
