The Government of Jigawa State has converted a three-star hotel and Yakubu Gowon NYSC orientation camp into an isolation center for suspected cases of Convid-19.
The governor stated this while he was inspecting those isolation centers that were newly established in Dutse metropolis.
He further stated that establishing a 20-bed-capacity isolation center with enough trained workforce is part of the state government’s effort to curtail the virus.
“Though we have zero cases of the virus, the state government cannot be complacent; therefore, we have taken drastic measures to prevent the outbreak of the virus in our state and also manage the pandemic if it occurs here.
“We have renovated the isolation center in Dutse and also equip it very well. We have also deployed a well-trained workforce to the center for treating those who might be affected by the virus.
“If the 20-bed- capacity isolation center is not enough, we have made plans to use the three-star hotel and NYSC orientation camp as isolation centers,” he said
He further explained that part of the state government’s measure to curtail the virus was the suspension of any public gathering. This includes closure of markets and schools across the state, weddings, naming, and even mourning.
He pleaded with the people of the state to be patient and persevere through this hard and challenging situation.
