Nigerian Army said it had arrested the soldiers behind a trending video where some soldiers openly threatened to rape and kill girls and women and also infect them with HIV.
This is coming a few hours after the Government of Delta State dismissed the video as fake news.
The soldiers in the footage were seen issuing the treat following the death of their colleague who was killed in Warri Delta, State.
The soldier was allegedly killed by residents to retaliate for the murder of one Mr. Joseph Pessu on Thursday by soldiers for refusing to stop at a checkpoint.
However, the Nigerian Army, through its verified Twitter handle @HQNigerianArmy, stated on Friday night, that the soldiers were arrested at 9 Brigade Ikeja Military Cantonment, Lagos State yesterday and that further investigation has commenced.
