The history of Nigeria civil war, also called the Biafra war, cannot be forgotten. It’s part of us.
Millions of people died mostly from the Biafra side, lead by Odumegwu Ojukwu.
Either in the war zone or starvation. The war lasted for about three years, from 1967 to 1970.
Even with the support coming from international bodies, Ojukwu could not withstand the defeat coming from Nigeria.
Countries like the United Kingdom, USA etc, supported Nigeria with heavy weapons, not only that, hungry/starvation also lead Ojukwu to surrender, to Nigeria.
Odumegwu Ojukwu could have averted this from happening, and innocent lives would have been saved. The touching picture above showed a wounded soldier begging for help.
The war was not easy for them. They did not prepare but fought hard. The war ended when the Biafra army surrendered.
