President Muhammadu Buhari has issued a new order to the Nigerian Army following the recent increase in the activities of bandits with the country.
The order was contained in a statement issued bu the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Promotional Material, Garba Shehu.
The President ordered that the Police should be carried along in the fight and also issued a death penalty on bandits taking the lives of citizens.
The order came as a result of the recent slaughtering of twenty-two persons in the state by criminals.
Reacting to this instruction, the Chief of Army staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai has ordered the General Officers Commanding the affected zones to go into action immediately and fish out the perpetrators of the crime.
He also asked them to work with the police to bring the criminals to book.
President Buhari also sympathizes with the affected governors, Aminu Tambuwal and Simon Lalong, assuring them that the Federal Government will do all it can to assist them in fighting the bandits.
