The Boko Haram insurgent has launched an attack on a special military camp where the chief of army staff, Gen Buratai, is located.
The camp which is located at Ngamdu, a border town between Borno and Yobe,
The attack is coming barely 72 hrs after the COAS has sent a message to the terrorist that he’s coming to defeat them in a short while.
A source in the camp that is not permitted to speak told reporters that the terrorist came with motor gun trucks and opened fire on the camp.
No death was recorded, but some minor injuries were recorded among the troops.
“The COAS asked soldiers to see what happened as a distraction to the major operation we are about to carry out. But we repelled their attack.” The source said
Another source said, “We are suspecting it is because of the advance operation we carried yesterday that got them angry, we killed some of their men and captured some alive. So they are angry and decided to come to attack us.”
When the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Sagir Musa, was contacted, he could not return the messages sent to him but promise to respond to them.
