The chairman of APC, Ebonyi State chapter, Pastor Eze Nwachukwu Eze, have come out to clear the air on the nomination of Late Hon. Tobias Okwuru.
The chairman while speaking to journalists on Wednesday evening at his residence made it clear that Hon. Tobias Okwuru was alive and healthy when his nomination was sent forth.
“Hon. Tobias Okwuru was very healthy when his nomination was sent, he even submitted his credentials himself”
“The nomination was done in early January and unfortunately, Hon. Tobias died in February.” Pastor Nwachukwu said.
He went further to tender unreserved apology on behalf of the APC, Ebonyi State to all Ebonyians for the failure of the leadership of the state APC to notify the presidency of the demise of Tobias Okwuru.
“We apologize to Ebonyians, and the presidency for the failure of the party to quickly notify President Buhari of the death of Hon. Tobias Okwuru and plead that the President should give the state chapter a little time to come up with a replacement.”
“It is the fault of the party and not that of President Buhari because we failed to inform them of Hon. Tobias demise.”
Describing Late Hon. Tobias Okwuru, Pastor Nwachukwu said he was a dogged party statesman.
“Late Hon. Tobias Okwuru was a dogged party statesman, he served the part with all the resources he had, we will really miss him.” Pastor Nwachukwu said.
