The Republic of Biafra was a state that only existed between May 1967 and January 1970. The country is located in the Eastern part of Nigeria, West Africa.

Southeast Nigeria sought for succession from the Nigerian state after the coup that killed several eastern civilians and soldiers in 1966.

After the attack, the Igbo’s decided to seek separation, and they were so determined to fight for their freedom.

The veteran warlord, late General Odumegwu Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, was the head of states. Other Biafran army warlords include Major Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu, Colonel Lambert Iheanacho, Major Joseph Achuzie, Major Ogbugo Kalu, Colonel Chris Ugokwe, Colonel Robert Akonobi, Colonel Ifeanyi Aniebo, Colonel Dibia Nwawo, and so many others.

During the war, few countries such as Israel, France, Tanzania, Zambia, Vatican city, Norway, Portugal, Spain, South Africa, Ivory Coast, Haiti, and Gabon.

The secessionist states reunited with Nigeria after three years of war.
