The Inspector-General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT) Headed by a Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, has disclosed that there is a new terrorist group in Town.

The sect is said to be Jama’atu Ansaril Muslimina fi Biladis Sudan or the Vanguard for the Protection of Muslims.

This group has become a top priority after Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, received petitions showing that their member had been sending emails to different companies, threatening to kidnap and kill their expatriates if the companies refuse to comply with the payment required, which is N50million annually.

The sect was behind the kidnapping of two expatriates working with a Construction Company Named Triacta Nig Ltd.

The Intelligence Responds Team has arrested nine members and recovered 204 rounds of AK47 live ammunition, military uniform, drugs, operational vehicle, and foodstuffs meant to be conveyed to Birnin Gwari Members in Kano state.

The suspects include: Saidu Aminu, 26 years old, aka Dawud, of Tudun Nupawa, Kaduna state; Mustapha Aminu, 23 years, aka China, of Tudun Nupawa, Kaduna State; Ishak Khalid, 30 years, aka Uztaz of Maraban, Jos, Plateau state; Aminu Shuabi, 33 years, aka Abu Mus’ab, of Rigasa, Kaduna State.

Others are: Awal Umar Tela, 34 years, of Maraban, Jos Plateau State; Abubakar Yusuf, 24 years, aka AY, of Rigasa, Kaduna State; Abubakar Mustafa, 32 years, of Maraban, Jos, Plateau State;Abubakar Isah Muhammad, 25, aka Khaliaf Abu Aisara, of Dala, Kano state; Shuaibu Ahmadu, 25 years, from Katsina State.

The report has it that the suspected have confessed to the kidnapping of the two expatriates, Isah Jabour, a Syrian and Zaid Alas from Jordan working with Triacta Ltd at Shiroro, Niger State.

The gang collected the sum of N120 million as a ransomed, and each member was given between N200,000 to N300,000.
