
Mrs. Pauline Tallen, who is the Minister for woman Affairs says that Almajiri children are being subjected to inhuman conditions.
The Minister lamented that the Almajiris were transported to their various states of origins in trucks used in transporting cargo.
Speaking during the flag of the 2020 National Children’s Day celebrations, themed: “Promoting Girl-Child Education for Sustainable Development’’, in Abuja, the MrTallen appealed to Northern Governors and other authorities to bring the issues of Almajiri to logical conclusions and develop strategies that would address the situation.
“Apart from hunger and starvations, the Almajiris are saddled with the inhuman treatments of transporting them to their states of origin in trucks meant for transporting cargo, the trauma of being rejected by their home state governments is painful, shameful and unacceptable.”

The minister further called on Northern governors to implements the Child Rights Act in their states to protect the human rights of Almajiris childrens, reports.

“The Northern Governors Forums (NGF) should bring the issues of Almajiri to logical conclusions, as well as respect and protect their human rights by implementing the Child Rights Act in states yet to pass it into law,” Tallen added.
