In the placards they were carrying, boldly written them “Black Lives Matter” and “Justice For George Floyd” as they condemned the killing of African Americans in the United States of America.

This protest comes after the incident that took the life of George Floyd on May 25, 2020, after Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for nearly 9minutes during an arrests.

Speaking on behalf of the group, convener, Josephine Okpara said the US must put an end to “white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on black communities by the state and vigilantes”.
