The Rivers State High Court has granted the order restraining an ex parte the Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Victor Giadom, from parading himself as the current national chairman of the ruling party, Channels Television reports.

This brings about a new twist on the crisis rocking the APC, which was intensified by the suspension of the former chairman  Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of the party by the Appeal Court earlier this week.

The presiding judge, Justice Florence Fibresima, Stated that Victor Giadom is not qualified to be the party’s National chairman because of his actions in 2018, where he resigned as the APC Deputy National Secretary to contest as the Deputy Governor of Rivers state during the 2019 general election.

The court held that following his resignation in 2018, that Victor Giadom is no longer a member of the NWC committee of the party.

The court also barred Victor Giadom from taking any action on behalf of the party as the Acting National Chairman.

Remember that Victor Giadom had on Friday written the INEC, introducing himself as the Acting National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Victor Giadom, in the letter he signed, hinged his introduction on the order of Justice Senchi Bature, who he claimed that directed him to act as the National Chairman of APC.

The battle for Adams Oshiomhole’s temporary replacement began after the party’s NWC, National Working Committee, appointed Abiola Ajimobi, the former Governor of Oyo, State as the Acting National Chairman,  APC.

However, He insisted that the order of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT High Court issued on March 16, 2020, by Hon. Justice S.U Bature in Suit No. FCT/HC/M/6447/2020 to the effect that he is the Acting National Chairman of the party following the suspension of the former chairman Adams Oshiomhole remains valid.

Victor Giadom later arrived at the APC’s national secretariat Abuja on Wednesday morning, where he held a press conference, where he declared himself  as the current  Acting National Chairman of the ruling party APC.

The situation became worse when the Vice Chairman of the APC,(South-South)Prince Hiliard Eta,took over as the ruling party’s Acting National Chairman and sacked Giadom as the party’s Deputy National Secretary.
