The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, has reacted to the death of President Muhammadu Buhari’s ally Malam Ismaila Isa Funtua.
The National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Tinubu, described Funtua’s death as a significant loss to Nigeria.
Tinubu said the deceased served Nigeria with dedication and commitment at different capacities during his lifetime.
The All Progressive Congress National Leader said the deceased was generous and an elder statesman.
Isa Funtua had died on Monday, 20th July 2020, after he suffered cardiac arrest.
The All Progressive Congress National leaders in a statement he signed said: “The passing of elder-statesman, nationalist newspaper publisher and prominent businessman, Mallam Ismaila Isa Funtua, is a saddening national loss that affected everyone.
He was a rare individual of immense talents, abilities and generosity.
“I had the distinct honor of knowing this man for many years. Mallam Funtua loved our nation with an uncompromising passion, having served Nigeria with dedication and commitment at different times in many important capacities.”
Bola Tinubu, while consoling with the Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari, lamented in sadness that Nigeria had lost some of its outstanding citizens in recent times.
“My condolences to Governor Aminu Bello Mazari of Katsina State and the Funtua Community. We have lost too many outstanding Nigerians in such a short time. We cannot question why, for the will of Almighty Allah is sovereign and supreme,” he added.
