At least fifteen persons or more were wounded on Wednesday, 29th July 2020, as Boko Haram terrorist group attacked the Borno State governor’s convoy, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum.
The state governor, Prof Babagana Umara Zulum, has been touring on some local government in northern Borno to ensure the safety of local returnees as well as make provision for the victims of the insurgency.
The state governor and his entourage were at Baga town in Borno State, one of the areas difficult for humanitarian activities, when the Boko Haram terrorist group ambushed his convoy.
These attack was repelled by security operatives in the governor’s convoy, but not without casualties on the side of his entourage.
InfoXclusiveMedia gathered that the state governor was on his way to distribute relief materials to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Monguno Local Government part of Borno State after leaving Baga town when the incidents happened.
“He was very fortunate to have escaped the attack unhurt and continued his journey to distribute the relief materials,” a source told InfoXclusiveMedia, adding that “this is about the third time insurgents are ambushing the state governor’s convoy.”
