Ondo State Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi has resigned from been a member of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The Deputy Governor, Ajayi’s resignation from PDP was coming six weeks after he refused and dumped the ruling political party, All Progressive Congress, APC.

Agboola Ajayi came second during the July 22 PDP governorship primaries after losing to Eyitayo Jegede who is the candidate of the party, and he made this move in other to keep his governorship hope alive.

Ajayi has made a decision in flying the flag of the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP at the forthcoming October 10, 2020 governorship election in Ondo State.

According to spokesmen from Info Xclusive Media, Ajayi will on Tuesday formally declared for ZLP, Zenith Labour Party.

Confirming the Agboola Ajayi’s resignation from Peoples Democratic Party, Allen Sowore who is his media aid said that, “This decision is as a result of the call on the Deputy Governor by the majority of the good people of Ondo State to give hope to the hopeless, provide credible and purposeful leadership in our dear State.

 “The chairman of the PDP in Apoi Ward 2 of Ese-Odo Local Government Area, Festus Oboro acknowledged the receipt of the resignation letter on August 9 2020.”

The Deputy Governor Ajayi has stated that he will not resign from his position as the deputy governor, having a running battle with his boss Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
