Obadiah Mailafia, who was the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has admitted that what he said concerning Northern Governors supporting the Terrorist Group, Boko Haram, is from a Fulani Trader in the market.

Obadiah was invited by the Department of State Service (DSS) over his claims.

He was set free from DSS custody, though he refused to retract his claims and insisted he was ready to lay down his own life like South Africa President, Nelson Mandela.

However, during his interview with BBC Hausa on Thursday 13th August, Obadiah Mailafia revealed he got his claims from “some Fulani traders” in the market and did not know that his comment would go viral.

Obadiah said he made an explanation to the DSS officers what he knew about the incident and apologized for the statement he made that upset others.

Obadiah also added that he is a fan of President Buhari, “but there are bad people who don’t give him the advice to help him.”

The Northern Governors Forum (NGF) has called on the state security agencies to investigate Obadiah’s allegations.
