We feed nine million children daily across the federation – Osinbajo

Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has said nine million children across the country are currently feed a meal daily in the Home-Ground School Feeding Programme.

He made this known while emphasizing what the Buhari-Led administration is doing to tackle malnutrition in the country by implementing different intervention programmes.

This was part of the highlight of his speech on Tuesday during the 2020 Virtual Conference on Nutrition in Nigeria.

The program was organized by Aisha Buhari Foundation in collaboration with development partners.

He also disclosed that nearly 1.2 million Nigerians have benefitted from the Conditional Cash Transfer program of the Federal Government.

According to Osinbajo: “The Social Investment Programmes (SIPs has also been helpful), “particularly the Home-Ground School Feeding Programme for public schools currently feeds over 9 million children across 34 states and the FCT, serving one nutritious meal every day.

“And our Conditional Cash Transfer Scheme that has provided cash transfers to about 1.2 million beneficiaries so far, to boost income.”
