President Buhari has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the successful electoral process in Edo State, which led to the victorious winning of Godwin Obaseki, the Edo State Governor, as declared by.
According to President Buhari, in his statement made available by Garba Shehu, the media aide to INFO XCLUSIVE MEDIA, congratulated Governor Obaseki and urged him to show humility and grace in his victory.
The statement reads: “My commitment to free and fair elections is firm because, without free and fair elections, the foundation of our political and moral authority will be weak.”
“I have consistently advocated for free and fair elections in the country because it is the bedrock of true democratic order.”
President Buhari further added, “Democracy will mean nothing if the votes of the people don’t count or if their mandate is fraudulently tampered with.”
Buhari also applauded the Edo state People, the PDP party, the Candidates involved, and the seciurity agencies for conducting a free and peaceful election.
