The head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, has urged everyone to pray for Nigeria.

The Bishop made this call on Sunday in Rome.

He said prayer is needed to end further violence in Africa’s most populous country.

“Let us pray to the Lord for Nigeria so that every form of violence might always be avoided, in the constant search of social harmony through the promotion of justice and the common good,” he tweeted.

There has been widespread violence in the country as the #EndSARS protest to end police brutality turned violent.

Hundreds have been injured, and scores died in the protest.

The international community has appealed to the citizens for calm and urged the Nigerian governments to probe the use of force on protesters by security operatives.

  1. Absolutely right, because if a criminal or sponsor armed bandits could carry weapon to cause diabolical extermination of innocent lives, then allow every one to take the security of their life and property in their own hand.,,from 25years of Age should be licensed by the government to carry Uzzi or M16 assault rifle.
