On Tuesday, Lagos State Okada riders protest against the seizure of their motorcycles by the state Task Force.

The Protest comes three weeks after Lagos state witnessed large-scale turmoil after the #End SARS protest went awry.

The group started a demonstration on Tuesday at the Second Rainbow area on Apapa-Oshodi expressway Lagos State.

They set fire to objects as they accused the State government of being hard on them. Hoodlums joined them to attack Task Force officials.

However, DAILY POST had reported that the Protest was spreading to other locations in Nigeria’s commercial city.

The chaos has now lingered till the next day. There is civil disorder along Ikeja Lagos State.

Fears that it may extend has caused panic in the security agencies, state government, and Lagos state residents.

The Security agencies are scrambling to put the situation under control. It is not yet clear if the military would be called in, but the human and vehicular movement has been put on hold.

The Head of the Task Force Public Affairs Unit, Adebayo Taofiq, had explained that they received several complaints about Okada ridders using their bikes to steal from people.

Taofiq said the unrest started after operatives went out for enforcement.

“They damaged beyond repair 2 of our vehicles with one of our trucks. A paramilitary officer attached to the agency (Ganiyu Mustapha) was wounded with broken bottles and cutlass because he mistakenly ran into the mob.”

Motorists including Okada riders operate with impunity and cause traffic gridlock since the #End SARS protest, spokesman complained.
