Egwu Chidiebere, the Special Assistant on Internal Security and Public Utilities (Urban) to Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, has resigned.

On Thursday, Chidiebere tendered his letter to the Ebonyi state government.

After the stepping down of the Commissioner for Inter-Governmental Affairs, Lazarus Ogbee, his exit came after a week time

It also came after the state Governor, Umahi, defect to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Egwu said his leave from the position “is with effect from today, 19th day of November 2020”.

“My resignation should not be misconstrued as an affront to your person, thus, but in tandem with my principle never to betray my master and anyone else.”

Governor Umahi appointed Egwu Chidiebere to the post in October.

Umahi had sacked Nchekwube Anakor, the former SA, for “non-performance and prevailing security challenges in the state.”

Governor Umahi  had also fired the Development Centre Coordinator Okposi, Jerry Okorie Ude, Coordinator Ohaozara-East, Martha Nwankwo, and Coordinator of Anuagata, Amos Ogbonnaya.
