The Foreign News Media, Cable News Network (CNN), has remained adamant in the face of the  Nigerian Government threat of sanctions, insisting that it stands by its investigative report.

On Wednesday, the American-based news media had released a documentary of #End SARS peaceful protesters alleged shooting by Nigerian military men at the #Lekki Toll Gate on October 20, 2020.

CNN said its report was based on testimonies from dozens of witnesses and verified footage of the Nigerian Army appearing to shoot in the #EndSARS protesters’ direction.

According to a statement made by its spokesperson published on CNN’s official website read, “our reporting was carefully and meticulously researched, and we stand by it.”

Recall that Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information, earlier on Thursday called for sanctions to be placed on Cable News Network for their report.

He maintained that the soldiers fired blank bullets at the #Lekki Toll Gate and not even at #EndSARS protesters but into the air.
