Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has on Thursday met with President Muhammadu Buhari.

Governor David Umahi was at the Presidential Villa with some APC stalwarts after announcing his exit from PDP.

The Yobe State Governor and APC Caretaker Chairman formally presented Umahi to President  Muhammadu Buhari.

In attendance were Governors Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), Badaru Abubakar (Jigawa), former Senate President Ken Nnamani, and others.

Hours earlier, Governor Umahi told his supporters not to criticize the federal legislators and others who did not decamp with him.

All the National Assembly members of Ebonyi origin had distanced themselves from his desertion.

In Ebonyi’s capital city, Abakaliki during his official declaration, Governor Umahi stated that the state is now 99.9 percent All Progressive Congress (APC).

Umahi said the remaining 0.1 percent are Peoples Democratic Party and predicted that those still in the opposition would soon decamp.

“Do not criticize them because they are looking for something and will come back when they get it. They are my children, and I love them very much as the father of the state,” he said about the lawmakers and other non-defectors.

He further thanked his supporters and appointees for believing and trusting in him.

Umahi said the path he chose was best for Ebonyi state people and the South-East zone.

Governor Umahi boasted that All Progressive Congress (APC) now has the Deputy Governor, Speaker of the House of Assembly, 110 executive council members, 1,200 administrative assistants, senior technical assistants, and technical assistants and 374 LGA liaison officers.

“We also have 400 members of boards and commissions, 560 LGA management committee members, 130 LGA supervisors, the entire chairmen of the 13 LGAs, party chairmen in the councils, legislators among others in this movement,” he said.

Governor Umahi further advised all Igbo political stakeholders to join the All Progressive Congress since the party controls the federal government.
