Lt. Gen. Tukur Burutai, the Chief of Army Staff, has argued that nobody was killed during the #End SARS protest at Lekki toll gate in Lagos State.
The Chief maintained no dead bodies found during and after the protest at Lekki toll gate.
Burutai spoke at the decoration of 39 newly promoted Major Generals yesterday in FCT, Abuja.
The Chief of Army staff stressed that those claiming #End SARS protesters were killed are seeing double and not well.
Buratai said: “I am glad that we held the Spiritual Warfare Seminar on Wednesday, and most of the decorated Generals today are graduates of the Spiritual Warfare Seminar.
“I must say that the Spiritual Warfare Seminar we had last time helped us during the last #EndSARS protest to the extent that there was no single corpse, but some persons saw double at Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos State.”
Recall that on 20 October 2020, several protesters demonstrating against bad governance were reportedly killed by Nigerian soldiers at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos State.
Obianuju Catherine Udeh, Popular Nigerian DJ Switch, had alleged that the military men shot and killed some of the people protesting at Lekki toll gate.
However, the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army had maintained that none of his men were seen at the scene, and its men didn’t kill any #EndSARS protester.
The Nigerian Army has further admitted that its men were at the venue of the protest but did not kill anybody.
