A former Nigerian lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has hailed former President Goodluck Jonathan for not utilizing the prevailing violence and bloodshed experienced in the country to praise his government.
Recall that the former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan had at the weekend refused to be drawn into any questions about insecurity in Nigeria and claimed he was the wrong person to speak on the issue.
Goodluck Jonathan pointed out that he had his challenges as a Nigerian president, some of which were similar to the present situations while in office.
“I was there before, and of course, you know there was a lot of insecurity.
So, I am the very wrong person to make comments on the insecurity in the land.” Jonathan said.
While reacting to this, Shehu Sani commended the former Nigerian president for refusing to gloat about the current Buhari-led government’s failure.
“Former President Jonathan did not take advantage of the prevailing violence and bloodshed engulfing our country to embellish his tenure; he reportedly said he is not ‘the best person to speak about insecurity.’
“He exemplified humility and statesmanship in this respect.”
