The former President, Goodluck Jonathan, has waded into the Issue and problems affecting Nigeria while also addressing and admonishing the Nigerian youths.
While he was giving a speech at an event centered on the commonwealth, former president Goodluck Jonathan revealed that his experience in government as a Vice President and later as a President of Nigeria opened his eyes to many things and issues affecting the country.
According to him, the Issue of peace and other issues worry him a lot. The Nigerian youths, according to Jonathan, engage in all kinds of confrontations.
The former President also revealed that in Nigeria, there appear to be no national youth bodies.
In most cases, what the country has are just regional youth bodies in most cases, and the regional youth bodies are stronger than the available national youth bodies.
For him, the various regional youth bodies like the Arewa youths in the North, other youth bodies in the South West, East, and South-South feel superior to the national youth bodies.
Jonathan further stated that all these regional segregations show clearly that Nigeria is undoubtedly in trouble and its peace is questionable as a Nation.
However, despite the Killings and unemployment, the former President believes in the Nigerian youth and admonishes them to use their talent to help the nation. As for him, this comes even before security and economy.
Jonathan says, if the Nigerian youths can come together as one to make decisions on peace, Nigeria will not only develop but progress and get to its desired destination.
The former politician also admonishes Nigerian citizens to have faith in the government regarding the issue of insecurity and terrorism. For him, no nation of the world is without insecurity issues, but Nigeria’s case is worst because the country faces it daily. He, however, assured Nigerians that the federal government is on top of it.
