On Wednesday, The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has again lost Sam Onuigbo, who was a member in the House of Representatives, to the All Progressives Congress (PDP).
This is the fourth member of the Peoples’ Democratic Party to dump the party for the ruling All Progressive Congress within the week interval.
Recall that Datti Yako on Tuesday moved from Peoples’ Democratic Party to the All Progressive Congress. At the same time, Danjuma Shittu from Taraba State dumped the All Progressives Congress Alliance for the APC.
Tajudeen Adefisoye, on Wednesday, moved from the Social Democratic Party to the APC.
In a letter, Onuigbo, who represents Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency of Abia State read on the floor of the House by the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Thursday, cited “division” as the reason for his defection.
Ndudi Elumelu, who is the Minority leader in what has become a customary protest, cited Section 68 of the 1999 constitution, calling on the Speaker of the House to declare the seat vacant.
