Boko Haram: Kidnapped Kankara students rescued

The State Government of Kastina has confirmed that the abducted students of Government Science Secondary School in the Kankara area of the state have been rescued.

Basher Ahmad, the Personal Assistant on New Media to President Muhammadu Buhari, disclosed this via his Twitter handle.

According to Ahmad: “The abducted students of the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara have been rescued, the Katsina State Government has confirmed the news. Alhamdulillah.”

Recall that last week, Boko Haram abducted about 600 students from GSSS in Kankara Local Government Area of Kastina State.

A few days later, Boko Haram came out to claim responsibility for the abduction.

Abubakar Shekau. The terrorist group leader said the students were abducted to downplay the importance of western education and promote Islam.
