The Edo State Head of Service, Mr. Amthony Okungbowa, kidnapped along Oza Road in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of the state on Saturday evening, has regained his freedom, NAN reports.
According to a family source who pleaded anonymity, Okungbowa regained freedom from his abductors on Monday night.
The source disclosed that he was set free after an undisclosed amount was paid for ransom to the kidnappers and that the HoS returned hale and hearty.
The family source also disclosed that collaboration between the family and the State Government helped in the ransom’s payment.
“We just want to thank God that our brother has been set free and in good health condition,” said the source.
The source also lamented that the orderly attached to the HoS died on Monday evening following complications from the injuries he sustained due to a gunshot he received from the kidnappers.
