On Wednesday, The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, announces the calling off of its industrial action.

Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Chairman, disclosed this during a press briefing on Wednesday, after the union’s ongoing negotiation with the Federal Government.

Recall that the Academic Staff Union of Universities had been on strike for about nine months.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities’ prolonged strike was due to the government’s alleged delay in meeting the union’s agreements.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities prolonged strike started on March 2019 and lingered till now.

“We are going back to strive for our students to excel. We are returning to classes and appeal to parents to work with us for the revitalization of universities,” the ASUU Chairman said.
