Nyesom Wike, the Governor of Rivers State, has revealed why he’s still a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party on Thursday.

Wike stated that Nigerians hope to rest on no other party but the PDP.

He made the statement while commissioning the reconstructed Aker base road in his state.

Wike described himself and other men he didn’t mention their names as men of character, stating that if he were that kind of Governor, he would have joined APC.

“I know how many times people have tried to woo us. We say no, we cannot be wooed. We are here we are here. We started with PDP, and we will end up with PDP.”

He noted that “no other political party to join,” maintaining that Nigeria’s fate solely depends on the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

According to Wike, the PDP is a party Nigerians want, and intimidation will not stop him and others who strongly believe in the party, adding, “We are men of character. We are people who stand by what they say. Not for pecuniary interest.”

Wike said the Peoples Democratic Party should keep giving Nigerians that hope they are looking for.

The Rivers Governor said he believes that everybody expects the PDP to take over the reins of power by 2023.
