Over 70 personnel of the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, are in China currently for special training.
The soldiers will return next week after spending over four months in the Asian country.
The contingent will be deployed to activate the 203 Combat Reconnaissance NAF Base, Gombe State.
The disclosure was made by the Chief of Air Staff, CAS, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, on Tuesday when he visited Governor Inuwa Yahaya.
Abubakar further explained that the NAF Base in the state is very strategic in the fight against banditry, insurgency, and other related criminal activities in the north.
“We are very excited that we are going to have this unit activated,” the CAS said.
He noted that NAF would station an additional Special Forces unit to protect its assets.
