Dear Freedom Fighters, I salute your courage.

I’ m writing this letter with a fearful mind, because of the South West situation, my mind has not been at ease since three days ago. You guys are setting us up for a reprisal attack. Your actions might put us in trouble.

My dear Sunday Igboho, I understand that you are fighting a successful course, you are on the right path, and your valiant deeds will never be forgotten by history. I am angry with you though, as I am typing this text. You should understand that to correct wrongs, we shouldn’ t use wrong.

I also condemn the abduction, banditry, and killing of criminal herdsmen in South West and South East, but we have to deal with the problem by using the right channel, we shouldn’ t take laws into our hands. I thank you for speaking up for the common people, but I condemned the Fulani settlement’ s violent attack. For those living in the North, such an act is very risky.

I’ ve lived in Kano for years, got married to a Fulani Christian lady, and we have three kids. I have a store on the Sabon Garin market, and I designed a house in Kano as well. I live among the Fulani people with my family. When another civil war broke out, we had nowhere to run. Civil war is the last thing we should allow to happen at this time in Nigeria, we can’ t all survive it. I appeal to you, as an Igbo man living in the North, to make a soft thread. Let’ s go after the offenders and not their tribe. We are one Nigeria, and any Nigerian, without fear of harm, can leave anywhere. Kindly yield to my advice, please.

To my dear brother, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, I love you very much and respect what you stand for, but with your inciting comments on social media, please stop fuelling the crisis. We Igbos are dealing at this time with a lot of problems, don’ t add more to it. In Igbo territory, the Eastern Security Network set up by you is still causing controversy.

I know that you and Sunday Igboho have supernatural powers, and security agents can’ t easily apprehend them. However, for peace to prevail, I want both of you to surrender to the government. For peace to reign again, Kanu should return home and surrender to President Muhammad Buhari.

Your sincere brother,

A fearful Igbo man living among Fulani in Kano.
