The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has captured the previous Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari.
Yari was captured for supposed illegal financial dealings and misappropriation of funds, Guardian reports.
The former governor is being kept at the EFCC office Sokoto.
EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, affirming the capture said Yari was cross-examined for around seven hours before he was detained in Sokoto.
A portion of the alleged financial infractions against Yari includes the sum of $56,056.75 stopped in his record with Polaris Bank; N12.9m, N11.2m, $303m, N217,388.04, and $311.8m said to be kept in various records for the sake of Yari and his companies.
