Residents of Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State, were on Friday forced to abandon their homes and business after a heavy rainfall unleashed wreaked havoc in the area.

Information Xclusive reports that rooftops and electricity cables were destroyed during the railfall, which was the first this year.

Usman Gusau, an occupant, told our journalist that he has moved his family to their family house as the top of their home was blown off. He said the downpour was surprising, making it hard to help them.

It was likewise gathered that numerous houses have been plunged into darkness because of the rainfall, which began around 5pm, as electricity poles fell.

According to a close source, Ismailia, the power authority responsible for the area requested a huge amount of cash to reconnect their cables. He lamented that notwithstanding paying N5,000 for the reconnection, there is still no power.

A large number of the occupants lamented that they take care of their bills when due yet are asked to pay huge sum to tackle the electricity problem.

“We don’t even know what Nigeria has turned into because everybody now needs money to do anything for you while Nigeria government claims it is fighting corruption but no impact,” they said.
