The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has announced a three-day prayer for the peace and unity of the country in the face of mounting insecurity.
The General Secretary of CAN, Mr Daramola Bade-Joseph, revealed this in an statment to NAN on Saturday.
Bade-Joseph said that the event which would hold as from May 28, until May 30, had become very important after the spate of insecurity in many part of the country.
He said that the overall situation had made it basic to look for God’s intervention to reestablish peace and progress in Nigeria.
According to him, all participating denominations are expected to assemble in the evening of of each of the days set aside for the prayers.
He spoke to CAN individuals to pray God to give the political leaders in the country the insight to do justice and show reasonableness to all way of people regardless of ethnic gathering, belief and religion.
“We should also pray that the law enforcement officers rise to their responsibilities by providing the necessary security we need in Nigeria,” he added.
