Insecurity has been the thing to address in Nigeria. A lot of things have happened for the current year, from heavy attacks of Fulani herders on ranchers to the battle for division between individuals of biafra, Oduduwa Republic and Nigeria. We have likewise known about innumerable attacks from terrorist and bandits, how they kidnap individuals, murder and request payments to replenish themselves.
They have even gone similarly as involving innocent school children into this. There have been reported cases of bandits abducting students from colleges in the north and murdering them when their requests are not being met with. While all these have been occurring, nobody could come up with genuine measures to tackle this issue of Insecurity.
The president has been very calm on this matter of which Nigerians have been complaining about. Luckily, the senior legislator, Obasanjo, Ex leader of Nigeria has shown his concern in the country and has advised the president on three (3) powerful approaches to tame insecurity in the country.
1. Incentive Approach
Obasanjo said Nigeria needs incentive way to deal with stop this high level of insecurity in the country. The incentive methodology includes the mix of reward and punishment to manage the insecurity issue.
2. STOP the Payment of Ransom
The Nigerian government is is well known for its habit of paying ransom to terrorists! this makes the public authority to look powerless.
Ex president Obasanjo said installment of payment urges lawbreakers to proceed with their criminal operations. He conceded that both the current and past governments paid payoffs yet continued denying it.
3. Intensely Deal With Kidnappers/Bandits
The senior legislator said the government won’t simply choose to not compensation ransoms without being intense, they should make proper moves. He said the government should have the way to deal with terrorists and bandits which includes developing means to deal with kidnappers and bandits instead of ransom payment.
