The unknown gunmen have invaded the Ungwan Gaida community in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing eight persons.
Many buildings, including the Assemblies of God Church, were damaged by the gunmen who came in massive.
Mr. Samuel Aruwan, The state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, identified those eleven killed as Samaila Gajere, Bawa Gajere, Bitrus Baba, Umaru Baba, Solomon Samaila, Sambo Kasuwa, and Samuila Kasuwa, as well as Gideon Bitrus.
Aruwan said, “Security agencies have reported that the gunmen that attacked Ungwan Gaida community in Chikun LGA. As of the day, this event happened eight persons have been confirmed killed in this attack.
An also a building own by the Assemblies of God Church was damaged by the gunmen, with several other houses.”
Meanwhile, the commissioner said the Nigerian Navy troops stationed in the Kujama general area murdered three gunmen and arrested two after an attack on the Wakwodna community in Chikun local government area.
Meanwhile, in another statement, Aruwan said that the gunmen also attacked herder’s settlement at Mararaban Jo’s, Rigachikun in Igabi LGA, killing three herders.
The commissioner also said notwithstanding the killing of the herders, unspecified numbers of cows were killed by the gunmen.
Aruwan identified the herders killed as Ibrahim Abubakar, Abdullahi Maitashi, and Umar Abbas.
He added that according to the report, the gunmen killed unnumbered cows. Receiving the report, Governor Nasir El-Rufai expressed sadness at the attacks.”
