Following an attack on the Shekau led Boko Haram by the Islamic State Fighters in West Africa Province, ISWAP, Shekau had on Wednesday, committed suicide to avoid being captured by ISWAP commanders.
Abdulkadir Rahis, a member representing Borno in the House of Representatives, has fired one of his aides for describing Abubakar Shekau the Boko Haram leader as a “true hero”.
Shekau used a bomb to kill himself on Wednesday.
Tanda, in a Facebook post on Thursday, praised the Boko Haram leader, stating that he “lived the life and died as a true hero”
“I admire and appreciate his courage to end his life. He lived a hero’s life and died a true hero. He did it in such a way that not even traces of his body will be found, ”wrote Tanda.
The comments did not sit well with Rahis, his director, who handed him a letter of dismissal.
“I wish to write to you formally and notify you of the termination of your appointment as my legislative assistant, immediately,” Rahis said in a letter that he personally signed.
“Your recent actions, statements, and opinions are at odds with my interest, that of my constituency and our great party, the APC.
“The letter also serves as a disclaimer to any action or position that I have taken or wish to take, on any matter that may have the most remote connection with me as a person or as my office.”
Shekau terrorized northern Nigeria for more than a decade.
