The troops of the Nigerian Army 6 Division and other security agencies have today been 28th May 2021 killed seven fighters of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) backed Eastern Security Network (ESN).
Report gathered that government forces raided their camp in Agbochia Forest in the boundary between Eleme and Oyigbo Local Government Areas of Rivers.
Oyigbo Local Governmnet Area is a town 30 kilometres from Port Harcourt, the capital city of rivers,
The troops was led by Brig. Gen. M. D. Danja also arrested five ESN militants.
The Department of State Security Service (DSS),Nigeria Police, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were part of the joint operation.
It was further recorded that no casualty of any form on the Security Officers during the arrest.
Items recovered include AK 47 rifles, G3 rifles, locally made machine gun, G3 magazine, rounds of ammunition and Baofeng handheld radios with chargers.
Others were NAF Tag and rank of an LCPL, GD belts, locally made helmet with ESN inscription, assorted phones, NPF face cap, boots, camouflage T-shirt, backpack and other valuable documents.
“The camp was destroyed in-situ. The suspects and corpses have been handed over to Rivers State Commissioner of Police for further investigation”, the source added
