Ambazonia Governing Council’ (AGovC), a pro- independence movement in western Cameroon, have agreed to trade weapons and personnel to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to enable them achieve their common aim of Freedom.
IPOB, which was founded in 2012 by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has long criticized the Nigerian government for its lack of investment, inequitable resource distribution, marginalization, and heavy military presence in the region.
In that case, the group asks for that Biafra nation be restored as an independent state through a referendum.
In other words the AGovC are fighting that they get freedom from Cameroon as a state called Ambazonia in the Northwest and Southwest areas as an English speaking state. Anglophone Cameroonians have had suffering since the region gained independence from the United Kingdom in 1961.
The scope of the alliance will include joint operations and training bases, Capo Daniel, the deputy defense chief of the Ambazonia Defense Forces, the military branch of the Ambazonia Governing Council, said in an article in Foreign Policy, an American news journal.
“Representatives from both the Ambazonia and IPOB movements claimed the parties will work to secure their shared border and ensure an open exchange of weapons and personnel.”
