Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, the Controversial Islamic scholar, has advised the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government on a step to take with the Indigenous People of Biafra.

He urged President Buhari to negotiate with the Leader of the IPOB group.

While speaking with the newsmen,  Kaduna-based cleric said the Federal Government should be frank in negotiating with the Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his group.

According to Gumi: “Government should try to be frank and engage even with IPOB’s people. Government should call them ‘you come and sit down let’s talk, what is your problem’.

Federal Government should call IPOB for a dialogue; saying that the problem is that Buhari-led government is not being considerate even with Fulani herdsmen.”

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB members have been advocating for the actualization of Biafra.

Recall that Kingsley Moghalu, the former presidential candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Prof. had called on the Federal Government to discuss with Mazi Kanu and other secessionists in Nigeria.

Kingsley Moghalu insisted that Mazi Kanu and other secessionists in the country do not possess a threat to Nigeria’s unity.

The former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, however, said Buhari’s lopsided appointment and fair treatment of Fulani herdsmen were responsible for the division in the country.
