Reporters reported that the UK Government through the office of the British High Commission has said it will call on the Nigerian Government over the re-arrest of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
It was reported that the Dean Hurlock, the representative of the British High Commission, unveiled that the commission is “in the process of seeking clarification” from the Nigerian government over mazi Kanu’s re-arrest.
According to the message, Dean Hurlock said the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office “stands ready to provide consular assistance”.
Meanwhile, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who has a British passport, was arrested by Nigerian security agents and brought back to Nigeria on Sunday.
The IPOB leader is facing trial for committing disloyalty.
Meanwhile Mazi Kanu’s brother, Emmanuel had said that the Mazi Kanu was arrested in Kenya over the weekend.
