A woman and her sister have sustained gunshot wounds following an attack on Katarko village by suspected Boko Haram terrorist.
The gunmen who where rebelled by the Nigerian Army of Sector 2 Operation Hadin Kai mobilized to the community, invaded the village in the early hours of Thursday.
An eyewitness who is a resident of the community, Identified as Dalhat Katarko confirmed the incident saying “one woman and her sister while planting seeds in their farmland sustained gunshot wounds from stray bullets.
“The injured victims since been evacuated to the State Specialists’ Hospital, Damaturu for medical treatment”.
Dalhat said the troops were quickly mobilized to the village, where they engaged the terrorist group in a gun duel.
Infoxclusive learnt that things have gone back to normal in the community as of the time of filing this report.
Katarko community is located 20 kilometer away from Damaturu, the capital city of Yobe state and had previously suffered Boko Haram attacks which has lead to lost of lives and properties in the area.
