In a statement on Monday by one of the lawyers of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Barrister Aloy Ejimako, said that the Department of State Service (DSS) has restricted his client from signing a consular assistance form by the United Kingdom.

The British High Commission following the re-arrest of the IPOB leader in Kenya and repatriated back to Nigeria had offered an extended consular assistance to the fugitive.

Mazi Kanu who is the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra and a citizen of both British and Nigeria is currently been detained in the custody of the Department of State Service (DSS).

Recalling that Mazi Kanu jumping bail in 2017, he has been imposed to resume his trial on July 26 2021.
